Domestic Violence
Domestic violence is so unknown to everyone, don't get me wrong everybody knows domestic violence or abuse in a household takes place but citizens choose to ignore it because they feel there is nothing they can do or even that there is nothing to be done. The police look the other way as well unless it is serious enough to bring to court; the police want no part in domestic violence. There is also the fact of invading on or in another family if you try to help or solve the situation; families’ don’t take kindly to others butting in to give "parenting advice."

Presentations
The presentation I enjoyed most was James Serena's because it was very interesting even tho the US's debt is now 15 trillion not 14, it was very informative. It also helped me because when I went to politics and the subject came up I knew a lot about the topic.

Violence in society
In school when one is bullied or offended they will grow older and mimic this behavior by being the bully. Now in society if u have strict parents or teachers that you don't like u will rebel against them. Or if they don't look after you that well with no structure in your life you will grow into bad habits. There are so many reasons for violence but i believe that the ones offended are the offenders against society.

Invisible Children
Violence and youth violence in specific is very brainwashing, for example no child would kill a man because they just want to or feel like it. War and violence is very physiologically disturbing, children and men are brainwashed to fight and kill. The few root causes of these abductions are for one the rebels who are the ones doing the abductions. But also the governments fault by not doing all that they can about this. Many say the children are our futures but in this case it is almost like the government isn't recognizing the issue.

Racism blog
Do you think a teacher/parent/guardian should be permitted within their freedom of expression to convey discriminatory thoughts to their child(ren) against a certain race, religion, belief, etc?
I don't believe racism is something that should be taught. Neo Nazi for example, yes the ones who are can be and have the choice to be but to raise someone in Canada to follow Neo Nazi and only that and to not allow them to have there own believes and opinions should be illegal and acted on. But as far as history goes i believe that facts should be taught and opinions only suggested so that students know the facts and have an opinion second.

CARE model senarios
1. If I had a crush on this person and she offered to smoke a joint with me I would tell her that it is her life and she can if she wants because I wont stop her but I also won't join her. while not doing anything about the situation I am also having her make the decision.
2. If this happened where I was dishonest on my resume and got the job instead of my friend who worked hard for it, I know I would feel bad for this, so I would do my best to have the job turned over to my friend by showing the internship that he deserves it more than myself.
3. Here I would continuously encourage this friend to seek help for himself, and if this fails over time I would not know what to do so I would seek help from a professional for advice of what to do and where to go from there.
4. I would stay first of all because a factory against the few people that do climb over, the factory would win for sure and have u behind bars, now if this factory was committing crime by doing this I would go straight to the police or a higher up in order to help the cause.
5. In this case saving Innocent civilians is a priority but human rights are not to be disobeyed, but on the other hand there are many interrogation tactics that don't involve violating the human rights of this person. There are tactics within conversation that can help in this situation.

WIC Preparation
The preparation was important and informative where we would frame the issues that we signed up for, but to the ones that attended the conference i believe they should have brought discussion questions to the presentations so they wouldn't be put on the spot. As we know, not many grade 12's took place in this conference partially due to other events like snowboarding which included myself. Next year I think the dates should be more clearly arranged so that every student has the time to go and knows it is mandatory in order to notice who came and who didn't.

2012 Prediction
My prediction for the 2012 world issue of North Korea is that since Kim Jong Il is currently dead I believe there will be protests and many sides including South Korea trying to over run the government. We heard of the protests in Egypt and Libya and in depth behind it and i feel North Korea will be something like that. Although it may possibly be on a smaller scale because there isn't many respected human rights in North Korea so many would be scared to stand up.

AIC- NSA reflection (Blog 9)
Lebanon March 14th Coalition,
The game may have started out slow for the March 14th Coalition but I think your ability to not be discouraged and to stay in the game after being ousted from power was commendable. You ultimately managed to overcome your loss of power and find a peaceful common ground with Hezbollah. You stated in your Strategic Goal Statement that you “would not side with Israel, ever” and in the end of the simulation you proved your dedication to that statement in your final Press Release when Saad Hariri announced “Israel does not have our support moving forward”. Congratulations on a successful game, and I wish you all the best in your future endeavors! It has truly been a pleasure working with you in this simulation.
Sincerely,
Mikky
I think our group (Lebanon) did good in restoring relations between Hezbollah and in the end waged war on Israel. What I think we or I could have done better is worked faster and replying quicker, getting further into the conflict and attacking Israel sooner therefore receiving the consequences and the achievements.

Mosh - Eminem (Blog 8)
This is Bin Laden, look at his head noddin' How could we allow something like this without pumping our fists Now this is our final hour Let me be the voice in your strength and your choice Let me simplify the rhyme just to amplify the noise Try to amplify the times it, and multiply by six...Teen million people, Are equal at this high pitch Maybe we can reach alqueda through my speech Let the president answer a higher anarchy Strap him with an Ak-47, let him go, fight his own war Let him impress daddy that way No more blood for oil, we got our own battles to fight on our own soil No more psychological warfare, to trick us to thinking that we ain't loyal If we don't serve our own country, we're patronizing a hero Look in his eyes its all lies The stars and stripes, they've been swiped, washed out and wiped And replaced with his own face, Mosh now or die If I get sniped tonight you know why,Cause I told you to fight.
Eminem has a very powerful voice to the public and is using it here. he is saying that President Bush gave the US army guns, support and the funds and sent them somewhere to fight for their country. On the other hand Eminem says he will fight with his army and be right in the middle of the battle, and he encourages people to fight for their country and for what they believe. Hes also saying we are fighting wars that we shouldn't be in different countries because we have our own battles in America.

To act or not to act
November 17, a Thursday my brother had just turned nineteen and wanted to go to a club in Hamilton to drink and have a good time. We had planned that I would drive him and his friends to this club and pick them up. On the door they had a sign saying the night will go till two A.M., but the music shut off at about 12:45. To my brother this was a waste of his money and he wanted to make a point by attempting to get his money back. He tried everything he could, talked to people who just told him to talk to other people, this turned into yelling and one of the younger managers completely disagreed with him. When my brother finally stepped outside and we started walking to my car this manager came out and told my brother to take the money from him by fighting him. My brother didn't want to fight him because there was no point it was over twenty dollars and my brother was a relaxed person. This guy was about the same build and height as my brother and wanted to fight him over twenty dollars. This whole time i wanted to leave and not have this happen, ending the night that early wasn't nice of them but i didn't feel it was necessary for my brother to act the way he did. As these two were face to face i wanted and thought about acting to split them apart but couldn't, I guess i felt i would get involved in it all if i stepped in but I also knew my brother could handle himself no problem. They did end up fighting, it wasn't long and my brother didn't get a scratch, he gave the other guy a bloody nose. I should have acted and i still think about it even though the conflict was not at large or had any serious risk.

Interdependence Quote Reflection
This quote was written after World War II because different nations were in ruins and needed others to help reform and reshape countries. Nations had to depend on others to support a community and bring them peace. This relates to today because even today countries cannot be and will not be independent, communication between countries is so common and so much easier to achieve. The simplicity to communicate with other countries now in the 21st century has become so easy thanks to modern technology today. this shows that countries are not alone and relie on other countries, as well as single human beings. We all have cell phones or some sort of technology, with any source it is easy for anyone to communicate with the other side of the planet. For example through Facebook, BBM, Skype, telephone, Pirate Bay, Gaming systems (Xbox 360, computer, PS3).

Blog #2 (Arab Israeli Conflict)
The Arab Israeli Conflict is the political tensions and hostilities between the Arab peoples and the Jewish that has lasted for over a century. This traces back to a settlement in Palestine, some see it as a part of Arab Nationalism. It would be a good idea for Lebanon and the Palestine's to come to some sort of truce. Fouad Siniora is a Lebanese politician and a former Prime Minister and was for three years.
Moammar Gadhafi was a hard man to capture and kill, he had his own army to fight for him and did not want to give up his life for any opportunity. I think the UN's involvement was successful because his is gone now and wont trouble anyone else in Libya no longer. But if it were possible for the UN to capture Gadhafi earlier and extinguish the threat then I believe that should have been done as well because the longer he was alive he was hurting Libya. I think those that abide by what Gadhafi was saying are innocent because they were just slaves to Gadhafi's words. They may have completely agreed with him and would stand by him to the death but they were only being sucked in by Gadhafi himself, he was a powerful man and persuaded people to stand by him in combat and in politics. So i don't think that his followers unless those who had the same intentions as Gadhafi and would follow his footsteps, or the people who did the same thing as Gadhafi but on a smaller scale should be captured or killed. But if those that I included were to continue to reign as Gadhafi did then action should take place.

Summer 2011 Blog #1
This summer I didn't accomplish much, I worked a lot at the Lowville Bistro and played a lot of Xbox. I had my G1 for the hole summer until after my birthday on August 29 I got my G2 and got my car, a Mazda Tribute 2001. I pay my own insurance and I pay my own gas, therefore I am working throughout the week even during school. As we all know Global warming is of high concern all around the world and myself getting a car, I am just contributing to Global warming. Other than that my summer was pretty boring.
