To act or not to act

November 17, a Thursday my brother had just turned nineteen and wanted to go to a club in Hamilton to drink and have a good time. We had planned that I would drive him and his friends to this club and pick them up. On the door they had a sign saying the night will go till two A.M., but the music shut off at about 12:45. To my brother this was a waste of his money and he wanted to make a point by attempting to get his money back. He tried everything he could, talked to people who just told him to talk to other people, this turned into yelling and one of the younger managers completely disagreed with him. When my brother finally stepped outside and we started walking to my car this manager came out and told my brother to take the money from him by fighting him. My brother didn't want to fight him because there was no point it was over twenty dollars and my brother was a relaxed person. This guy was about the same build and height as my brother and wanted to fight him over twenty dollars. This whole time i wanted to leave and not have this happen, ending the night that early wasn't nice of them but i didn't feel it was necessary for my brother to act the way he did. As these two were face to face i wanted and thought about acting to split them apart but couldn't, I guess i felt i would get involved in it all if i stepped in but I also knew my brother could handle himself no problem. They did end up fighting, it wasn't long and my brother didn't get a scratch, he gave the other guy a bloody nose. I should have acted and i still think about it even though the conflict was not at large or had any serious risk.

Interdependence Quote Reflection

This quote was written after World War II because different nations were in ruins and needed others to help reform and reshape countries. Nations had to depend on others to support a community and bring them peace. This relates to today because even today countries cannot be and will not be independent, communication between countries is so common and so much easier to achieve. The simplicity to communicate with other countries now in the 21st century has become so easy thanks to modern technology today. this shows that countries are not alone and relie on other countries, as well as single human beings. We all have cell phones or some sort of technology, with any source it is easy for anyone to communicate with the other side of the planet. For example through Facebook, BBM, Skype, telephone, Pirate Bay, Gaming systems (Xbox 360, computer, PS3).

Blog #2 (Arab Israeli Conflict)

The Arab Israeli Conflict is the political tensions and hostilities between the Arab peoples and the Jewish that has lasted for over a century. This traces back to a settlement in Palestine, some see it as a part of Arab Nationalism. It would be a good idea for Lebanon and the Palestine's to come to some sort of truce. Fouad Siniora is a Lebanese politician and a former Prime Minister and was for three years.

Moammar Gadhafi was a hard man to capture and kill, he had his own army to fight for him and did not want to give up his life for any opportunity. I think the UN's involvement was successful because his is gone now and wont trouble anyone else in Libya no longer. But if it were possible for the UN to capture Gadhafi earlier and extinguish the threat then I believe that should have been done as well because the longer he was alive he was hurting Libya. I think those that abide by what Gadhafi was saying are innocent because they were just slaves to Gadhafi's words. They may have completely agreed with him and would stand by him to the death but they were only being sucked in by Gadhafi himself, he was a powerful man and persuaded people to stand by him in combat and in politics. So i don't think that his followers unless those who had the same intentions as Gadhafi and would follow his footsteps, or the people who did the same thing as Gadhafi but on a smaller scale should be captured or killed. But if those that I included were to continue to reign as Gadhafi did then action should take place.

Summer 2011 Blog #1

This summer I didn't accomplish much, I worked a lot at the Lowville Bistro and played a lot of Xbox. I had my G1 for the hole summer until after my birthday on August 29 I got my G2 and got my car, a Mazda Tribute 2001. I pay my own insurance and I pay my own gas, therefore I am working throughout the week even during school. As we all know Global warming is of high concern all around the world and myself getting a car, I am just contributing to Global warming. Other than that my summer was pretty boring.
